Hebrews 5:5-10

1 Passage: Hebrews 5:5-10

1 Verse:
Verse 9. And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation

1 Prayer:
Thank You, Jesus, for becoming the source of my eternal salvation. You have given me a gift that far exceeds my ability to earn or appreciate -- a gift which often leaves me perplexed as to how to comprehend its staggering reality. Somehow, my salvation involves me in a process of becoming like You through my obedience to Your Spirit and living Word. But You are perfect and have been made perfect by learning obedience through suffering. How can I expect to learn obedience like Yours if not through suffering, too? So, please, Jesus, be near me in my trials and troubles and struggles and sufferings. Help me to consider them all joy. Help me to be a comfort to others who also suffer.

Exodus 4:10-15

1 Passage: Exodus 4:10-15

1 Verse:
Verse 11. The LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD?"

1 Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for making me. And thank You for the promise that You can make up for whatever I lack. I have by my own selfishness and sin made myself less than You intended me to be. But now, Lord, I trust You to compensate for me. Your power is made perfect in weakness, even though I feel like I have perfected the art of being weak. Father, please be my strength. Stop me from using my faults and frailties and failures as excuses for not doing the things You have created me to do. I am Your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which You have already prepared for me. Help me to trust that You have also already prepared me for them.

Hebrews 4:14-16

1 Passage: Hebrews 4:14-16

1 Verse:
Verse 16. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

1 Prayer:
Thank You, Jesus, for sympathizing with my weakness. Our shared humanity gives me confidence to draw near to our Heavenly Father's throne -- the same throne to which You sit at the right hand in resurrected glory. Thank You for promising to give mercy and grace in my time of need. Forgive me for failing to ask. So often I fail to recognize or am ashamed to admit my need until it is too late. Please help me to know when I am straying too far from the throne of grace so that I may instead draw near and be strengthened by Your good Spirit.

Hebrews 4:11-13

1 Passage: Hebrews 4:11-13

1 Verse:
Verse 13. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

1 Prayer:
I'm grateful, Father, that You see everything. I'm sorry if Your view of me sometimes isn't pretty, but, thankfully, You don't see me without also seeing Jesus' sacrifice on my behalf. I am open and laid bare before You, and yet covered and clothed in the righteousness of Christ. Help me today to be mindful of Your ever-present awareness of me, so that when I am in need I won't hesitate to turn to You. You do not forsake me or abandon me or leave me all alone, but forgive me for forgetting Your nearness.

Genesis 13:10-17

1 Passage: Genesis 13:10-17

1 Verse:
Verse 17. "Arise, walk about the land through its length and breadth; for I will give it to you."

1 Prayer:
Father, You are the Creator, Maker of heaven and earth and everything in them. Everywhere I go, everything I see belongs to You. You have ultimate authority and absolute power over it all. The things of this world are Yours to give or withhold as You see fit. You may not have promised me possession of a land like You did for Abraham, but there are other gifts You want to give me. There are so many more blessings You have already given. Father, I receive them with thanksgiving. As I go walking about my day, please help me to see with gratitude all the things You have granted me by Your grace. Thank You for blessing me so abundantly.

1 Verse:
Verse 10. And, "YOU, LORD, IN THE BEGINNING LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH, AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS;

1 Prayer:
Father, You are the Creator, Maker of heaven and earth and everything in them, including me. I am one of the works of Your hands and this is the day that the You have made. There is a place for me here and now to do Your will. I am Your workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which You prepared beforehand so that I would walk in them. Please help me, Father, to walk by faith through this day. Help me to fit into Your plan both for me and for others today. There is work for me to do. There are foundations I need to lay. Please help me to be successful in them. Establish for me the works of my hands, just as You have established those of Your own.

Hebrews 1:1-4

1 Passage: Hebrews 1:1-4

1 Verse:
Verse 3. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

1 Prayer:
Father, there truly is only one like You -- Jesus, Your Son. Your glory shines through His perfect obedience. Your nature is made manifest through Him. Thank You for giving us a picture of Yourself in human flesh in the person of Jesus. And not only the person we see in the pages of Scripture, but the person who by His blood has removed all our sins and who by His word upholds all things. Thank You, Jesus, for upholding me by Your Spirit. And thank You for being my advocate before the Father, seated at the right hand of His throne on high. Advocate for me today. You know my needs.
