Genesis 3:1-5

1 Passage: Genesis 3:1-5

1 Verse: Verse 5. "For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

1 Prayer: Father, please help me to recognize lies when I hear them. I am susceptible to wanting the things the serpent here promises Eve -- I want to see with open eyes, I want to have God-like knowledge. And just as those desires became the bait the serpent used to ensnare Eve, I am in danger of being misled also. Help me to look to You. Help me keep my eyes shut and walk by faith and not by sight whenever I am tempted. Help me to be content not to be like You, if my efforts to become like You are only going to lead me away from You.
